Semi-double cradle frame design features a single large diameter tapered down tube. A tuned Y section attaches to the base of the down tube. Tuned cradle sections provide a strong, durable attachment point for the tuned billet engine mounts.
Custom front air box plate provides optimal air filter sealing and air flow.
Unique air boot provides unimpeded air flow to the powerful engine.

249cc liquid-cooled reed-valve two-stroke engine produces horsepower over a broad rpm-range.
Lightweight, nickel-plated, low-route exhaust system by Pro-Circuit offers superb performance and a slim mid-section.
Integrated Power Valve with automatic decompression system provides optimum exhaust timing at all rpm for a broader power band that provides more low end torque and more top end horsepower. The Power Valve also makes kick starting easier by bleeding down compression pressure at cranking speeds.
Electro fusion Cylinder improves heat transfer for improved power, power consistency and lighter engine weight.
Liquid Cooling ensures power output remains consistent and strong.

Aluminum Perimeter Frame

Second generation Service Kawasaki AF chassis.
Perimeter aluminum frame is a composite structure comprising forged, extruded, cast and billet components.
The frame is optimized with a balance of torsional and longitudinal rigidity for superior handling.
Front and Rear petal disc brakes help reduce unsprung weight and helps clean the brakes pads for efficient braking performance.

Uni-track Rear Suspension

All alloy swingarm has tapered spars that combined with a cross bracket design the swingarm helps improve stability rigidity and traction.
Rear shock features a large 50mm piston body design that, when combined with the valving settings, improves overall performance and provides better response and feeling when the shock is bottomed.
The shock features dual compression adjustability, for separate high- and low-speed damping tuning.
The linkage bushings are all collared sleeves for easy maintenance.
Thin shock spring coils reduce weight.

Inverted Twin-Chamber Cartridge Fork

Front Suspension features a Kayaba AOS (Air-Oil-Separate) that fork keeps oil and air in separate chambers for stable damping performance during long motos.
Titanium coating on the fork sliders reduces stiction for improved suspension action.
Outer fork tube shape works with new upper triple clamp shape to optimize rigidity balance for better handling.
Fork offset is 23.5mm for improved cornering and handling.
New fork tube guards wrap further around the lower fork tubes for better protection.
Small holes at the top of the cartridge slows the rate air is displaced during compression. The slightly increased air pressure during compression produces more linear damping characteristics resulting in smoother suspension action in the initial part of the suspension stroke.

Front and Rear Disc Brakes

Front and Rear petal disc brakes help reduce unsprung weight and helps clean the brakes pads for efficient braking performance.

Forged aluminum rear brake pedal has a large mounting bolt and the lever has a larger foot with sharp teeth to provide a solid feel and easier operation in difficult conditions.

The slim profile of the KX250A frame, two-piece radiator shrouds that leave the upper frame spars exposed, and careful design of the remaining bodywork make the KX250AF feel light and narrow beneath the rider.
